Our initial meeting is a chemistry check and an opportunity to hear the vision for your organisation, the opportunities and challenges, and to explore your immediate communication needs and priorities.
I provide my guiding thoughts on how we can work together, including indicative pricing. This could be a one-off workshop, a distinct and time-bound project, or an interim assignment over many months.
Based on follow-up conversations, I submit a financial offer (scope of work, timelines, freelancer fees, expenses and terms of business).
Both parties sign paperwork (including any confidentiality agreements).
Freelancer project/assignment kick-off.
In order to gain a thorough understanding of your goals I seek early access to your people and your content.
There are obvious cost savings associated with engaging a freelance consultant: you simply pay the day/project rate (plus any agreed expenses) and none of the assumed employee costs (e.g. visas, health insurance, holiday pay, gratuity, etc.).
I have two rate levels:
I offer a day rate for short-term projects (e.g. 1-6 months) and a project rate/monthly retainer for longer-term projects (e.g. over 6 months).
As a sole practitioner operating out of Dubai Media City I cover my own employee costs and benefits. The only thing I ask is that my clients honour the agreed terms of payment. After all, enabling a quality pool of freelance talent to continue to operate depends on prompt payment.
